On Sunday, February 16th, 2025, Saint. W. Bailey—the Former First Lady of The United House of Prayer for All People (2008-2023)—transitioned from labor to heavenly reward. The Columbia, South Carolina native was introduced on a grand platform when her husband, the late-Bishop C.M. “Sweet Precious Daddy” Bailey, became the leader of The United House of Prayer. By his side, then-First Lady Bailey traveled extensively, was an encouragement and inspiration to many, and helped further the development of The House of Prayer. Bishop Bailey preceded her to his heavenly reward in 2023. They were joined in holy matrimony for 52 years.
St. Bailey was a helpmate to Bishop Bailey, doing whatever was necessary that he might spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While she always walked a step behind him, her praise and worship were second-to-none. Anyone attending service with her would have vivid memories of St. Bailey giving event to the spirit by letting the Lord have His way with her.
St. Bailey is most known for her legacy as Bishop Bailey’s wife and the mother to three children of achievement (Mickie Bailey, an attorney; Clarissa Parks, a nurse; and Kevin Bailey, a civil engineer). As much as she cherished and flourished in those lifelong roles, she had a career prior to her husband’s elevation as well as a very hands-on approach to honoring God.
While the pastor’s wife in Augusta, Georgia, St. Bailey had a career at Savannah River Site (SRS) for 18 years as an administrative assistant / secretary. While she worked at SRS during the day, she spent her evenings nurturing her family and serving God—nightly and all-day on Sunday. She was known, also, as a fine cook and baker. Previously she managed the cafeteria in the Augusta Motherhouse—the
Madison Cafeteria – on Saturdays for over fifteen years. As First Lady, St. Bailey left an indelible impression by donating her time and resources to different Houses of Prayer. Additionally, she would call and send gifts to bereaved families, visit the sick, contribute to the support of senior members who desired to do more in The United House of Prayer, and so much more.
She was a woman of great faith, a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother, and careerist that stepped away from the workforce to devote all her time to The United House of Prayer in support for of her husband’s life-changing work. At her core, St. Bailey was a House of Prayer member that sought to please and worship God.
The homegoing services for St. W. Bailey will be held on Saturday, March 1st at God’s White House, 601 M Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001, with a viewing at 10:00 am and the service promptly beginning at 11:00 am.
